The cat was pleased to have us back.
In my notes I mentioned things I would change for next time. Obviously we shouldn't have taken as much warm weather clothing. The coldest I felt in Norway was in the overly air-conditioned train to Bergen. Surprisingly I also I learned I didn't need so many pairs of underwear (a couple pairs of patagonia underwear is apparently fine for multiple weeks.)
I think bringing a couple of my nice wool shirts is OK for several weeks of travel too.
Our black carry-on bag is nice but awkward to carry with another bag (and would have screwed us if we hadn't checked it on the way back)
Finally it's a good rule to always get airline seats as close to the front of the plain as possible while still keeping space under the seat in front of you. A emergency exit row will give you more leg room but there won't be room to stash your stuff overhead.
If I had to do the trip again this is what I would take:
The final thing I'd do is make sure the times are synced on our phones and camera. I wrote some code to try to put the 40GB of pictures we captured on our trip into chronological order but I was only partially successful. It would have been better to have them all in agreement.
Hopefully it isn't another decade before we make it out to Europe again.
I've thrown in a few images from the thrift store we visited the next day to fill out this page.
