Open air concerts and dinner
That evening we walked to the university to see some live music. We saw a bad Norwegian rap group calling themselves 'The Shitzies' and another Emeliano and Luisa wanted to see called 'Megaphon'. Celine accidentaly pronounced the name of this band 'mega-phoon', and the Italians, when they stopped laughing told her 'phoon' is slang in Italian for vagina.
Along the way we stopped at a bar for some beer and met up with some other CEES researchers including a flamboyantly gay man wearing a suit. While walking into the concert area he was groped by a passing woman and was mortified.
After the concert we went to a greek restaurant for dinner and were seated next to a boisterous group of middle aged men and women. They were drinking beer and as the evening progressed they got drunker and drunker - chatting loudly in slurred Norwegian. As I was finishing my pizza, I heard a loud crack and looked over to see the drunkest man was trying to lift one of the women out of her chair and had pulled her over onto the floor. The waiter hurried over to help her up.
His friends hushed him a few times when he shouted drunkenly during their conversation and as they got up to leave he saw we were watching and came over to talk to Celine (leaning over her chair).
"Where are you from?"
"Italy, France, America..."
"Oh! You are are from France?"
He was surprised and confused.
"But how can you communicate?! I don't speak French!"
We had to assure him that we all spoke English, and were in fact speaking it now...
