Frisors
Ja's apartment is located in the ethnic part of town which means his neighbors are Africans, Pakistanis, Asians, or other non-natives. There were at least two Pakistani sweet shops on the street leading to his apartment and I was sorely tempted to go in and try one of their unusual looking cakes.
Hair dressers were found in abundance around his apartment. The Norwegian word for a barbar shop is 'Frisor' and when I realized how common they were I tried taking a picture of every one in the area. Here is a small sample.
Ja said when a merchant recently started renovating a corner shop he hoped it would be a convenience store or produce market but it was just another frisor.
