I'm glad they failed to monetize their panopticon. I want to own something like this but there's no way in hell I'm letting amazon or google listen or watch everything I say and do. The best (but most unlikely) outcome of this failure would be if amazon opened the hardware and software and let us run our own local voice assistant nodes. I would buy two or three.

using a web browser owned by the worlds biggest advertising company is not a good idea.

I'm not sure the solution is to build more houses though, I'd like to see a tax on people that own multiple homes.
